Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 4.03.2008

I was deeply moved today watching thousands of men, woman, children and even their dogs coming together dressed in pink for a cause that has affected them all. They marched for their grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, friends... and even themselves to fight against, and bring awareness too, breast cancer. It was touching that so many gathered today with similar stories, victories and love for the women on their t-shirts! All wore the names (and even photos) of the women they walked for and it was a beautiful sight!
I am happy to have been a part of this event, and to have recorded this day forever within the images of the day.
The photos will be online where they can be printed off for free. I will give out the link as soon as it is available to me.

Dan, Lori, and Amanda 2007

Can you believe this was taken at Whitnall Park?! I love this rustic look and couldn't believe we found it here.
I was looking for a way to show off the fun playfulness of this session because I really liked this shot, but it looks so posed when it wasn't! Amanda did this all on her own... she's a littles genious. She kept running back and forth between me and her parents showing us the leaves she was finding, when she paused with this cute little smirk. I love it!

Thanks Amanda!

Amy and Jason 9.5 Weeks

Amy and Jason are expecting!
At 9.5 weeks just following their first ultrasound this is their first photo session in a series of about 8 or so. I'll be visiting and documenting their lives over the next few months, and in the end we'll create a storybook that brings their photos together with journal entries on the experience.

I love doing projects like this! This really is capturing life and telling a story.
I'll keep you posted!

Thank you to Amy and Jason, I'll be seeing you soon!

A new talent!

Thanks to Stephanie Kern at VanderBloemen Creative I now know how to make photo composites! I'm so excited, this is something I have wanted to learn for a while. I love being able to put the names behind the photos, it's a cute, unique touch. (You may have to click on the image to see the detail)
Thanks Stephanie!

This is newborn Collin and his proud big sister Abby. It was a fun photographing these two cuties, I can't believe the way Abby opened up and took some wonderful photos!
Thanks Christine, hopefully I'll see you soon for your big family photo! ;)

Michelle and Rob

wedding date: 7.05.08

I went to Boston to photograph Michelle and Rob all around town. The day we were shooting was the only day it snowed! Which turned out to be really great, we got such romantic photos.
It was so cool, they had a whole list of places to visit, so I really got an expert tour of Boston. In the first photo we were actually in Harvard Square. It was the first stop on the list, and provided the most gorgeous natural light. Some great minds have come from that school... and now some great photos too! (If you don't mind my saying:) You guys really were so wonderful to photograph.

Thank you for having me come to Boston- It was a great experience!

April Kraklow- 34 weeks

I first met April when I was photographing a wedding she was a bridesmaid for, when we started discussing ideas for a maternity shoot.
I had no idea she was pregnant before she told me, but 6 weeks later and there's no hiding it now.

April- you are gorgeous! I had a wonderful time documenting these moments of your life. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Special Delivery!

Baby Cameron Arnez Barfield was born on November 10th 2007 @ 9:11pm. Congrats Jenny and Dezi, what a beautiful addition to your family!

You are so sweet Jenny, and Cameron was so much fun to photograph. He kept wiggling and stretching his toes, I don't think they stopped moving once, not even when he was sleeping!
It was an honor to photograph you and your new little guy, I can't wait to visit in 6 months. Well, I'm a little late in bragging about you guys, so really I'll see you in May!
